Raphael Renaissance Angel Christmas Cards Raffaello Sanzio

Raphael Angel Christmas Cards Raffaello Sanzio

Angel (fragment of the Baronci Altarpiece) 1500-01

The face of an angel as only Raphael could paint it. I love the composition and the purity of line. Rich palette of Renaissance red and green balanced with black and white.

One of the loveliest and most tasteful Christmas cards I've seen (even if I say so myself), and suitable for framing.   Fully customizable.  Change the message, font and font color if you like, and personalize by changing the example names to your own name(s).

Matching postage stamps, note cards, postcards, stickers and more are available in my gallery's Angel Collection.

About the original work of art:
Artist: Raffaello Sanzio da Urbino (Raphael)
Title: Angel (fragment of the Baronci Altarpiece)
Date: 1500-01
Period or Movement: Italian High Renaissance
Medium and Support: Oil on wood, 31 x 27 cm
Location: Pinacoteca Tosio Martinengo, Brescia
Notes: The altarpiece was badly damaged in the earthquake of 1789. This angel fragment is one of the few unblemished fragments salvalged from it after the disaster.
