Alphonse Mucha Laurel Art Nouveau iPhone 5 Case

Le Laurier (Laurel), 1901 by Alphonse Mucha. Original piece: color lithograph, 53 x 39.5 cm (20.9" x 15.6"). Like its companion piece Le Lierre (Ivy), the wonderful trompe l'oeil effect gives this piece an earthy, garden feel and a tactile appeal. You want to actually reach out and feel the texture of the tile mosaics. The Arts and Crafts Movement influence is stronger and the palette more restrained in these two pieces than in his other works, yet that lyrical Mucha magic is as potent as ever. I love the the marvelous greens against the rich browns accented with dusty lilac and goldenrod.

Alphonse Mucha La Plume Quill Pen iPhone 5 Case

La Plume (The Pen -- also known as The Quill) by Alphonse Mucha, 1899. One of two decorative panels from the set Plume et Primevere. This work is lesser known but is among the most highly praised by art critics. Alphonse Mucha Princess Hyacinth iPhone 5 Case

**Alphonse Mucha's Princezna Hyacinta (Princess Hyacinth), 1911.**

From the poster for the fairy tale ballet and pantomime production Princezna Hyacinta by Ladislav Novák and Oskar Nedbal presented in Prague during the 1911 season. The subject of the play was a blacksmith who dreamed his daughter was a princess kidnapped by a sorcerer. Andula Sedláková starred in the title role and the portrait of the celebrated actress dominates the poster, her blue eyes steadily fixed upon the viewer.

Decorative elements include hearts, blacksmith tools, a star-spangled crown and instruments of sorcery, all references to the ballet. A hyacinth motif appears throughout, most evidently on the circlet held in the actress's hands, and also in her exquisite jewelry. There are even hyacinth florets dangling from from the princess's marvelous crown. Colors include teal blue, teal green, cinnabar red, golden ivory, antique white and a touch of olive green.
