Alphonse Mucha Laurel Art Nouveau Button Pin

Alphonse Mucha Laurel Art Nouveau Button Pin from Zazzle.com

Le Laurier (Laurel), 1901 by Alphonse Mucha (color lithograph).

Like its companion pieceLe Lierre (Ivy), the wonderful trompe l'oeil effect gives this  work an earthy, garden feel and a tactile appeal. You want to actually reach out and feel the texture of the tile mosaics. The Arts and Crafts Movement influence is stronger and the palette more restrained in these two pieces than in most of Mucha's other works, yet that lyrical Mucha magic is as potent as ever.

Now you can wear this beautiful work of art on your choice of Zazzle button sizes (this same button in the  square shape is also available in my gallery).  It gives me great pleasure to bring the best art of past centuries into our own for everyday use and enjoyment.

I love these buttons because they're a fun and inexpensive way to change up and bring some "wow factor" to an outfit. Pin it on a tote bag or hat for a bit of Old World charm, or use to secure a vintage hankie or scarf to your purse strap or belt. The possibilities are endless!

See the my gallery's Alphonse Mucha Laurel Collection for the matching tote bag and many other coordinating items.

PS:  If you're wondering about those funky lines in the photo, they're from the watermark (to protect the image) and will not appear on the printed product.
