Cardinals in a Row Mug

Cardinals in a Row Mug from Zazzle.com

Cardinals in a Row Mug

Yes, both kinds!

A 16th-century Cardinal leads a procession of Cardinals of the avian persuasion. The script above reads:

"Cardinals process in a row
Red peaked hats against the snow"

Yeah, I just made up the words, but they certainly fit. I love the "oh come now" expression on the Cardinal's face juxtaposed with the birds' "happy birdies are we" expressions.

The human Cardinal is from Raphael's Portrait of a Cardinal (1510-11). The Cardinal birds were inspired by a 1760s American watercolor by an unknown artist. A fun addition to my American Songbirds Series.

Species: Northern Cardinal Cardinal cardinalis

I hope you will enjoy using this mug as much as I enjoyed creating the design. It's truly a joy to bring the art of previous centuries into our own for everyday use and enjoyment.

This mug is available in all styles. Try them out and see which you like best.
