Redoute Red Camellia Botanical Print Note Cards

Redoute Red Camellia Botanical Print Note Cards Notecards

Pierre-Joseph Redouté Camellia japonica 1827

As a Camellia grower myself, I can attest that all of us Camellia lovers are positively passionate about these little trees -- so if there's a Camellia grower in your life, you've found the perfect note cards.

I adore this particular print: lovely, simple, elegant, charming -- everything but the marvelous Camellia scent. Produced by "the Raphael of flowers" Pierre-Joseph Redouté for his sumptuous book of engravings Choix des plus belles Fleurs.

I love the graceful lines, the vibrant greens of the sun-dappled leaves and the rich red of the flower itself. Truly, it's an exquisite bloom. (Well, that's no wonder: the specimen he painted belonged to a French princess!)

Matching postcards, Christmas cards, stickers, postage stamps and more are available in my gallery's Antique Botanical Prints Collection.
