A wonderful Antique Santa Claus from 1909
A wonderful antique Santa Claus from 1909 all dressed for the snowy night in his fur-trimmed coat and hat of green. You can tell he loves the beautiful Christmas tree all lit with candles and festooned with glittering gold. He's carrying gaily-wrapped packages and a bag full of toys ~ dolls and marionettes ~ to delight the children on Christmas morn.
From a 1909 postcard. The reverse (where you write your message and address the card) is also done up in the authentic style of the period, but updated a bit for modern use (sorry, you can't send postcard these days for only "one cent domestic, two cents foreign"!).
