A professional graphic designer who uses her background in art history and restoration to create everyday objects you can enjoy in your home or as wearable art. It's a joy to bring the best art and design of ages past into everyday life, plus invitations and DIY party projects. If you don't already share my love for artists and illustrators such as Alphonse Mucha, Edmund Dulac, Beatrix Potter, Carl Larsson and John Tenniel, perhaps you'll discover a new enthusiasm.

George Barbier Costumes Parisiens 1914 Fashion Plate

Plate 168. Grande robe du soir en brocart d’argent - Perruque bleue, aigrettes (Grand evening dress with silver brocade - Blue wig, aigrettes) Journal des Dames et des Modes, “Costumes Parisiens”. Etching with pochoir color on laid paper, 1914.

Now here's a pair of fine-feathered friends!

Stylish and sophisticated but with a touch of fun -- quintessential Barbier. A fashionable lady in a headdress of white peacock feathers standing before a graceful wisteria in bloom -- and on the branch is perched a marvelous white peacock. love the aqua patterned dress and red shoes.

Wonderful Art Deco palette of black, white red and that fabulous shade of aqua blue. One still senses the Art Nouveau influence here in the graceful curving lines and composition, yet the Deco high contrast, stiff poses and sense of fun are already shining brightly in this piece.

Matching items and more are available in my gallery's Art Deco Collection.
